Solera Senior Living COVID Update Following Newest CDC Relaxed Guidance

At Solera Senior Living, the safety and well being of our residents, their loved ones and our team members remains our top priority. We are extremely proud of the continuous efforts made within our communities in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia and Texas to minimize the risk of new cases by following the appropriate safety protocols.

You may have heard that the CDC recently announced relaxed guidance for COVID, relating to masking, social distancing and quarantining. This has caused some confusion within the senior living industry, and we’ve received a number of questions from residents and family members at our communities asking if our COVID management and prevention measures will be changing.

To clarify, the CDC’s guidance is applicable to the general public. However, assisted living communities and other designated health care entities are still required to follow state, county or local guidance, which is far more cautious. Even though the CDC has loosened a number of COVID guidelines, we are still required to follow all masking, social distancing and quarantining guidance that has been required for at least the past six months.

For family and friends, you may follow the newest CDC guidance in your personal lives.

If you live at or work at a Solera Senior Living community, or are visiting one of our communities, you will continue to follow the state, county or local COVID mitigation guidance, which includes the following:

• Wear a mask at all times
• Practice social distancing
• Use hand sanitizer and wash your hands frequently
• Let us know immediately if you are not feeling well
• Visitors: Do not visit if you are feeling ill
• Team Members: do not come to work if you are feeling ill
• Residents: do not attend activities or dine in the restaurant if you are feeling ill
• Follow all current COVID testing requirements

We look forward to a time in the future when the COVID guidelines can be more relaxed for senior living communities and other designated health care entities, and in the meantime, we greatly appreciate your support and understanding.
